It is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and the third most expensive disease after cardiovascular disease and cancer.

The Mini-Cog uses a 3 item recall test for memory and the intuitive clock drawing test. The later serves as an "informative distractor" helping to clarify scores when the recall score is intermediate.
The CDT is considered normal if all numbers are present in the correct sequence and position, and the hands readably display the requested time.
