Kalinga Province Foundation Day, Month of February
A provincial celebration marking the creation of Kalinga as a separate province with cultural and trade fairs held every February of the month.

Ullalim Festival (Kalinga Day), Feb 13-16
A cultural festival showcasing the life and culture of the Kalinga through sports, crafts including indigenous food.

Salidummay Festival
A festival featuring the ethnic songs, dances and rituals of the municipality of Lubuagan, Kalinga

Matagoan Festival, Tabuk, June 16
A showcase of the cultural practices of the eight sub-tribes of Tabuk (Biga, Tobog, Dallac, Malbong, Naneng, Gaddang, Guilayon, Colminga). Serves as a culminating activity of Tabuk Day. Events include: Dornat - strenthening of the Bodong ties between two tribes; presentation of cultural songs and dances; and Matagoan Run or a 6-kilometer run from Bulanao up to the municipal hall in the Poblacion.

Arya Abra, March 9
A celebration commemorating the creation of the province in March 1917 by virtue of Act 2683. The occasion is capped by a grand cultural parade depicting Abra in its historical stages starting from the early pre-Spanish era to the present times.

Tingguian Festival
An ethno-cultural festival featuring the rich and colorful dances, rituals and songs of the Tingguians.

LANG-AY Festival, Mt. Province, April 7
A week-long agro-industrial trade, tourism and cultural fair with tribal dances and songs in full regalia. Lang-ay is a native term which showcases the living tradition of the people of Mountain province to celebrate festivities, share happiness, foster family solidarity, hospitality and nurture friendship - all with a toast of home brewed wine.

Menaliyam Festival, May 27 - 28
A mini Lang-ay Festival that showcases the best of the Balangao, Baliwon, and Barlig tribes reminiscent of their old and living customs and traditions amidst the sound of gongs and chanting of sacred prayers.

Begnas
Ethnic offering of thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest where pigs or chickens are butchered for the family or clan members to partake of.

Chom-no or Chonno
The grandest and most expensive wedding celebration which usually happens once in four or five years when the number of carabaos butchered reflects the economic status of the family, accompanied by dancing and singing.

Special Interest:

Nature trekking through the Bontoc Circuit Trail to appreciate the natural wonders and beauty of the province.

Some trekking routes: Guina-ang - Dalican - Aguid; Bontoc Poblacion - Dalican; Bontoc Poblacion - Caneo; and Mainit - Maligcong - Belwang

Mountain Climbing: Mt. Amoyao (Barlig), Mt. Calawitan (Sabangan), Mount Pagturao (Bontoc), Mt. Ampacao (Sagada), Mt. Clitoris (Tadian), Mt. Polis (Bontoc), Barlig Forest, Sagada (Spelunking)

River Rafting: Chico River offers a challenging and thrilling route for rafting especially on the rainy months of June - August.

BAKLE FESTIVAL AUGUST
A post harvest thanksgiving festival of the community for a bountiful harvest to the Gods of Agriculture. The "binakle" rice cake and "baya" , rice wine are prepared by every house to be shared with anybody who visits their house or community.

VICTORY DAY CELEBRATION SEPTEMBER
An annual celebration commemorating the end of WWII wherein the veterans from the Philippines, their sons and doughters, Japan, USA, gather to reminisce the past and appreciate the value of freedom through songs, dance, medical missions and other activities.


Baguio City

Baguio Ecumenical Week, Holy Week
The festival focuses on Baguio as a spiritual center. The first commemoration initiated by the religious sector started in March 1991 with the theme "Baguio, a journey to spiritual renewal."

Panagbenga / Baguio Flower Festival, February
The festival focuses on Baguio as the Flower Garden City of the North. Highlights include flower exhibits, lectures, garden tours, floral competition and city-wide parade of floats.

Baguio Foundation Day, September 1
The event which commemorates the chartering of Baguio as a city in 1909 features art exhibits, parades, programs, cultural shows and sister-city programs.

Baguio Arts Festival, November - December
Started in November 1989 by the Baguio Arts Guild, Department of Tourism and Cultural Center of the Philippines, the festival holds visual arts in photography, film, video, sculpture, art installations and ethnic creations.

Christmas in Baguio
An annual Christmas celebration featuring events like cantatas, children's mardigras, sports competition, among others. Also includes Silahis ng Pasko, Share-A-Toy, Lucky Foreign Balikbayan, Phil-Am Golf Tournament, and Himig ng Pasko

Impakabsat, November
A trade and tourism fair and exhibit showcasing the ethnic products and services of the Cordilleras.

Baguio Tossed Salad Festival, October
Initiated by the Baguio Association of Hotels & Inns (BAHAI), this festival features the different products of Baguio and Benguet through the serving of vegetable salad to thousands of local visitors and guests.
